Why Brita's Running

I’m Brita Horn, and I’m running to be your next GOP State Chair because our party needs a rescue plan, and it needs it now.

The Colorado GOP is in trouble. Our state party is out of funds and lacks a clear strategy to win elections. But I’m not one to run from challenges. As a long-time political activist AND a fire chief, I’ve faced countless emergencies head-on, saving lives, protecting our community, all while defending our rights from an overreaching Democrat-controlled government. Now, I’m ready to bring that same determination and leadership to the Colorado GOP.

Brita's Platform

1. Robust Fundraising

I was told by many at the RNC Convention that I have the skill set for fundraising and they will be willing to open their
checkbooks and doors if I am the chair. I made a promise to them.

2. Effective Support for Candidates

The candidates are not receiving much needed data and volunteers to support their campaigns. I have the data companies waiting for this successful transition  and there are networks to find volunteers to join in and unite the party to get to work.

Colorado Republicans must monitor and support four levels of campaigns at four levels of government: Statewide, Congressional, State House and Senate, and County.

3. We need an Energetic Get Out The Vote (GOTV) strategy

4. And protect the ballot.

We achieve all of this by recognizing the role of State Party Chair is multi-faceted. We need to deploy immediate support to the most critical areas of the state while ensuring the healthiest areas are still receiving any and all support they need. Our party is badly neglected and it is time to change that.

We need a partnership to put together a single voice and get Republican candidates elected. Just like our national
Committee Woman Christy Fidura “Ruckus” and Michell Gray did in Pueblo. The strategy and tactics they used to flip 9
of the 11 seats in Pueblo, we can apply that strategy and many more to the rest for the 63 counties and win.

If we don’t win, we can’t govern.

Brita has three essential types of plans laid out:

Strategic Long-Term Plans:
Our roadmap to the future.

Operational Plans:
The backbone of daily activities.

Quick Battle Plans:
Immediate response strategies.

To succeed, we must adapt, pivot, and overcome any obstacles from today until November.
It is up to each and every one of us to get the Republican candidates across the finish line.

Brita's Values

My determination to serve others runs deep in my soul. It’s how I was raised. Be grateful for what you have and give back more. While living in Washington D.C., I served those less fortunate at soup kitchens each night after work. It was there that my passion to serve others was ignited. After Gary and I were married and began raising two daughters, we firmly believed that you finish what you start. Whether it’s joining the volleyball team, raising a steer or sewing a dress for a 4-H project; you finish what you start. As a mother, I practice what I preach.
